Global Appraisal of Individual Needs – Short Screener (GAIN-SS): Administration and Scoring Manual Version 3 The GAIN-SS is a screen used to quickly flag those with internalizing & externalizing, and substance abuse disorders. The screening materials are available freely on the GAIN webpage. To use the GAIN-SS results publicly, you must purchase a license and sign a data sharing agreement, however a free 30-day trial is available on their website as well. Substance Abuse Treatment for Persons with Child Abuse and Neglect Issues The document focuses on the effects of childhood abuse and neglect perpetrated by family members and the intergenerational transmission of the cycle of substance abuse and child abuse and neglect.
