The Gwinnett Coalition is a seasoned coalition with a very long history in their town of Lawrenceville, GA as well as the surrounding towns within Gwinnett County. Gwinnett county has a large population of foster children as well as a rising population of seniors. The Gwinnett Coalition has been in contact with school systems to discuss implementing universal SBIRT for 3,000 students with the goal to create a School Based Wellness Center. Gwinnett coalition will direct their Hilton grant towards promoting usage of SBIRT among medical providers in Gwinnett County to identify and reduce substance abuse disorders in adolescents, expanding services available in Gwinnett county by facilitating efforts towards school-based health centers, partnering with school-based mental health programs.
