Cultural competence considers the unique obstacles faced by those providing SBIRT to people of color, of different gender/sexual orientations, or drug cultures, for example. CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report Report of Alcohol Data Ever wondered, how often are people reporting Alcohol use in my state? The MMWR has data and a graphic for that. On average only one in six adults reported ever discussion their alcohol consumption with a health professional.
